Baby Blessing Milestone

Baby Blessing is the first Family Milestone, designed to equip, bless, and celebrate parents and their children throughout the infancy and toddler phases of life, and encourage our church body to build relationships and build community. Families with children newborns – age 2 years (at the date of the event) are invited to participate.

The Equipping Class
Parents attend a required equipping class, with breakfast included, at 9 AM on the scheduled Saturday prior to the Sunday Blessing Event. OHC Kids Club is available for children 3 months to 5th grade during the Equipping Class. The class focuses on the parent's role as primary spiritual nurturers of their children. Parents learn how to raise their children in a way that honors the uniqueness of each child. Parents also learn how to point their children to God and show them the love of Christ. At the Equipping Class parents are also prepared for what will occur during the time of blessing.

The Blessing Event
The Blessing is a part of the Worship Service, held in the Worship Center at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30 AM. It includes parents making verbal responses to commitments, and it is followed by a time of prayer by the elders. After the blessing, parents, grandparents, other family, and friends are invited to a reception. During the reception families receive a small gift to commemorate the occasion.

Space is limited, register by September 9th.

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $15 per child.
