Ms. Carey received a Bachelors of Science degree in history and education from Abilene Christian University. She went on to teach AP World History at John Marshall High School in Northside for eight years until she decided to step away from the classroom to be a stay-at-home mom. Ms. Carey began subbing at the preschool when her youngest son entered the Owls class back in 2021. She currently works full time as the Music teacher.
Ms. Carey has been playing the piano and teaching music theory for 32 years. She is the pianist for the Beehive Assisted Living Center at Crownridge. Ms. Carey also holds an ACE Group Fitness certification, along with a HIGH Fit dance class, Group Cycle, and Pound fitness certification. She works part time at the OP YMCA teaching group fitness classes. Ms. Carey is married to Dylan. They have 2 boys and a dog. Their family hobbies are traveling, outdoor activities, reading, music, and board games.
