Meet Our Missionaries

Leah has been serving with Pioneer Bible Translators for 13 years in trauma healing ministry and in leadership. In 2016, she married Kalo, who is from the Mountains. They have 3 children: Kama- 7, Nunu - 5, and Tio- 3. After serving for 11 years in the region, Leah and Kalo moved to Kalo's home area and began a new phase of their ministry. The Mountains is an area that is very isolated and constantly at war- but God is on the move. In a population that is less than 3% Christian, there is a huge need for Truth to be proclaimed and for workers to be supported and equipped. They are building a training center with a vision to reach the entire country with God's Light

Ministry Work

The ministry focuses on walking alongside missionaries and local church and community leaders training, praying, and strategizing with them. The focus is on biblically based, Spirit led training events in peacebuilding, agriculture, asset-based development, discipleship, and leadership. In an area where there so much darkness, people's hearts are open to evangelism, because God has prepared them to receive him. Leah and Kalo are grateful that God allows them to be a part of his amazing work! God is speaking to people's hearts in many ways. He creates a space where his spirit and truth are welcome-and all see His Spirit at work in a mighty way! New believers are being discipled and sharing their faith despite the danger this poses to them. Christians are no longer unengaged but are now reading the Bible and praying, and the Holy Spirit is transforming their lives. Discouraged local missionaries are being strengthened and supported. Hopeless people are beginning to see new light and power through the Word of God.
